Gate-side prices without the table service bill
Spar in Dublin T2 sits landside on the departures level, handy if you’ve checked in early and don’t want sit-down restaurant prices. It opens daily at 06:00 and runs through to 22:00, so it catches both the 07:00 European departures and the late-evening US flights.
Think standard Spar convenience store: sandwiches, crisps, drinks, a small hot-food counter, and basics like toothpaste and plug adapters. Meal-deal style sandwiches usually run a couple of euros cheaper than anything airside in T2, and bottled water here is closer to city pricing than the gates.
Breakfast options show up from around 06:00: sausage rolls, pastries, and coffee that’s priced well under the chain cafés deeper into T2. If you’re facing a 09:00 Ryanair or Aer Lingus departure, grabbing a coffee and pastry here can save both time and a few euros versus hunting near the gates.
The shop closes at 22:00, so anyone on the late-night transatlantic bank out of T2 should stock up before security if boarding after that time. It’s also one of the last places landside in T2 to pick up EU plug adapters and charging cables before you hit the stricter gate prices.
Tip: do a quick Spar run for snacks and water right after check-in in T2; then you can skip the pricier impulse buys at the gate.
