Duty Free

T2 Open · Mon-Sun 04:00-21:00

T2’s main duty free opens at 04:00 and shuts at 21:00

Dublin Airport Duty Free in T2 sits just past security on the standard walk toward the gates, so you almost can’t miss it on any Aer Lingus long-haul out of T2. It runs daily from 04:00 to 21:00, which covers the early US departures and most evening European flights. If you land after the last wave around 21:00, you’re done for the day on tax‑free shopping.

This is the big liquor and fragrance stop in Terminal 2, with the usual Irish focus: plenty of whiskey, including airport-only bottles, plus Baileys and local gins at duty free pricing. Expect better value on higher-end spirits than on basics; the savings over high-street Dublin can be modest on mainstream brands. Cosmetics and skincare take up a big chunk of floor space, with regular 2‑for‑1 and multipack promos flagged on shelf labels.

Snacks and souvenirs lean heavily Irish: think branded chocolate boxes, shortbread, and logo merch tied to Dublin and Ireland. Prices are in euros, and they’ll usually ask if you want to pay in EUR or in your home currency; tap the card in EUR and let your bank convert if you care about rates. Queues peak around the 06:00–08:00 transatlantic bank, then ease off mid-morning.

One practical move: if you’re tight on time before a T2 departure, walk straight to your gate first, clock the boarding status on the screen, then backtrack to Dublin Airport Duty Free if you’ve got at least 15–20 minutes to spare.
