The Phoenix Lounge

T1 Open · Daily 04:00-21:00 showers Day pass €35 pp online or €45 pp at reception

04:00 opening time makes The Phoenix Lounge a solid T1 escape

In Terminal T1 after security, The Phoenix Lounge runs daily from 04:00 to 21:00 and feels unusually spacious for Dublin, with three distinct seating zones instead of one packed room. It sits in the contract-lounge tier, but regulars on FlyerTalk rate it “good food for a contract lounge,” which already puts it ahead of some older T1 options.

Access works two ways: Priority Pass cardholders get in as usual, and everyone else can buy a day pass for €35 online or €45 at reception. If you’re paying cash, the online rate is the better deal; two people walking up at the desk adds up to €90, which is real money for a short layover snack and drink.

Food is self-serve buffet style, better than basic crisps-and-biscuits territory but not a full restaurant. Expect standard contract-lounge hot items plus cold snacks; think enough for a light meal before a Ryanair or Aer Lingus T1 departure, not a long-haul Polaris-level spread. Drinks include the usual soft drinks and alcoholic options at no extra charge, making the €35 online pass reasonable if you’d otherwise buy two drinks and something hot in the public area.

The layout is the lounge’s strong point: three separate sitting areas mean you can pick distance from the buffet depending on your noise tolerance. One section closer to food and drinks suits quick in-and-out visits of 45–60 minutes, while the far side tends to stay calmer when the terminal peaks for early-morning departures between 05:30 and 08:30. Power outlets sit along many wall seats, so look for those if your phone landed in Dublin on single digits.

The Phoenix Lounge is post-security in T1, so you clear security first, then head here with boarding pass in hand. Build in at least 15–20 minutes before boarding to walk back to the far T1 gates; don’t buy a €45 walk-up pass if your flight starts boarding in 25 minutes, or you’ll spend most of your time watching the clock instead of eating.

Practical tip: if you know you’ll use it, buy the day pass online for €35 before you get to DUB; that €10 difference versus reception pricing covers an extra drink and snack elsewhere on your trip.
