2015 trip reports still mention Airspace, but the lounge is gone

The old Airspace Lounge in DTW’s North Terminal (now called the Evans Terminal) no longer operates under the Airspace brand. It originally sat airside in the concourse used today by airlines like JetBlue, Alaska, Southwest, Spirit, and Frontier, but current Priority Pass and lounge maps for Detroit show zero active “Airspace” listing in that terminal.

This lounge used to be an independent, pay-in option serving passengers in what was then called the North Terminal, separate from the Delta-heavy McNamara side of DTW. Older guides mention it alongside Lufthansa and other partner lounges, but recent FlyerTalk threads from 2023–2024 confirm that the space has since been rebranded or repurposed, so you can’t buy a day pass or swipe a lounge card there anymore.

If you’re flying from the Evans Terminal today, plan as if there is no Airspace Lounge access at all. That means leaning on gate-area seating, power outlets along the concourse, and the terminal’s mix of chains and local spots instead of expecting any Airspace-branded bar, shower, or quiet zone. Priority Pass holders in particular should double-check the current app listings for DTW: they point you toward restaurant credits or other options, not an Airspace door.

Most current lounge action at DTW sits over in the McNamara Terminal, with Delta Sky Clubs and a couple of partner lounges for international carriers. There’s no airside connection between McNamara and Evans, and the two buildings are separated by a shuttle ride and a full security re-clear, so you can’t cheaply “hack” your way to a Sky Club and back in time for a Southwest or Spirit departure.

One practical tip: if an old blog, cached Google listing, or 2014 Priority Pass screenshot still shows “Airspace Lounge – North Terminal,” treat it as outdated. Cross-check against the current DTW map or your lounge program’s 2024 directory before you pay extra for a card or time your arrival assuming lounge access in Evans.
