Gate-side Virgin Megastore option in Main Terminal
Just off the central concourse in Hamad International’s Main terminal, Virgin Megastore is your last-minute stop for electronics, books, and gifts before boarding. It sits airside, so you hit it after security, roughly a 3–5 minute walk from most A and B gates depending on crowds.
Tech first: you’ll find headphones, power banks, phone chargers, and travel adapters, with basic wired chargers starting around 40–50 QAR and brand-name accessories climbing fast. It’s one of the few places in DOH where you can replace a missing cable and be back at your gate in under 10 minutes.
They stock English-language books and magazines alongside toys and board games, handy if you have a 6–8 hour layover and need something that doesn’t run on battery. Prices run higher than downtown Doha, but still acceptable for an airport: paperback novels usually land in the 50–70 QAR range.
For gifts, expect branded merch, pop-culture collectibles, and small electronics like Bluetooth speakers and game controllers. Impulse buys at the counter (keychains, sweets, small gadgets) sit in the 20–40 QAR band, which helps if you just need a token gift and don’t want duty-free perfume.
Cards are accepted and receipts print in QAR, handy if you’re tracking expense reports. Stock levels and hours vary a bit with flight waves, but the shop generally tracks the main terminal’s peak schedule and stays open through most overnight banks.
Tip: snap a quick photo of your charger or cable port before walking over; it saves you from buying the wrong adapter and another 10-minute round-trip to your gate.
