Prices in SAR only make sense once you’ve checked Duty Free

In Dammam’s Passenger Terminal, Duty Free sits airside after immigration, covering the usual perfume, cosmetics, confectionery, and tobacco shelves in one long walk-through zone. You’ll see mostly Middle East staples: oud-heavy fragrances, big-brand chocolates, and cartons of Marlboro and Gauloises stacked high. Stock turns fast before the late-night waves to DXB, RUH, and JED, so anything you really want, grab it on the first pass.

Hours aren’t posted, but shops here generally mirror the flight banks, staying open for late departures past 02:00 and early arrivals around 05:00. Expect airport pricing on liquor and fragrances: often better than downtown Dammam malls by 10–20%, but not always a steal. Tobacco cartons and large-format chocolates (Think 400 g Toblerone and 1 kg Kinder bags) usually offer the best value.

Non-food souvenirs lean heavily on regional items: 100 ml oud oils, boxed dates, and gift packs of Arabic coffee and cardamom. Electronics are basic travel stuff only: power banks, USB-C cables, and over-ear headphones from midrange brands, not a full Apple or Samsung lineup. If you need a 3‑pin UK-to-EU adapter for your 220 V gear, check the accessories rack near the front registers.

One tip: compare fragrance prices against what you remember from Sephora or Jarir in Dhahran Mall; if the gap isn’t at least 15 SAR on a 100 ml bottle, spend your riyals on dates and coffee gift boxes instead.
