Intercity coach

Tickets often run under $40 from DFW into major Texas cities

Greyhound Connect runs intercity coach service between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and cities across Texas and neighboring states. It’s standard intercity bus seating, not an airport shuttle loop, so treat it like a regular Greyhound line that happens to stop at DFW. Fares on some DFW–Dallas or DFW–Fort Worth routings can dip under $40 one-way when booked in advance, but always check live prices before you commit.

The service links DFW with off-airport Greyhound stops and hubs, so you can reach downtown Dallas (about 20–25 miles from the terminals), Fort Worth (around 25–30 miles), and longer-haul points like Austin or Oklahoma City on the same ticket. Because this is an intercity coach, schedules are built around through-routing, not your flight time, and gaps of 2–4 hours between buses are common on some corridors.

Greyhound Connect does not load at gates A–E security checkpoints, so plan to exit the secure side. Expect to use either a designated ground transportation area or a shared bus bay near one of the terminal curbs, then connect from there to downtown or another city. Allow at least 30–45 minutes from wheels down to curbside if you’re checking bags at DFW, especially in terminals D and E where immigration and customs can slow things down.

Tickets sell via the main Greyhound channels, not the airport. You can usually book DFW as an origin or destination city through the app or website, then pick a specific departure time. Paperless (mobile) tickets are common, but carry a backup screenshot and your confirmation number; drivers sometimes check ID against the booking, especially on longer segments over 150 miles.

Buses typically have restrooms on board and standard 2×2 seating, with ride times from DFW to downtown Dallas often in the 45–70 minute range depending on the route and traffic on TX-183 or TX-114. Treat it like any highway coach: keep a small bag at your seat and stow larger luggage under the bus; tag anything over 22 inches so it doesn’t get mixed with other passengers’ bags during intermediate stops.

Practical tip: build at least a 90-minute buffer between scheduled flight arrival and your Greyhound Connect departure from DFW; if your inbound leg runs late, same-day walk-up tickets at the counter for the next bus can cost more than advance web fares.
