Gate-side option in Terminal D for pasta and pizza
The Italian Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck sits in Terminal D at DFW, handy if your international flight leaves from one of the D gates and you want something heavier than a snack. It’s past security, so this only works once you’re checked in and through TSA in T-D. Expect a casual sit-down setup with a bar plus table service, not a grab-and-go counter.
Menu basics run through pizza, pasta, salads, and a few mains, with entrées typically landing in the $16–$26 range and individual pizzas often around the mid-teens. As with most Wolfgang Puck airport spots, you’ll see familiar things like margherita or pepperoni pizza, a chicken pasta, and at least one vegetarian option. Portions tend to be big enough that one main can hold you through a 3–4 hour flight.
Drinks lean on the usual full bar line-up: draft and bottled beer, a small wine list by the glass, and standard cocktails in the $12–$18 bracket. If you’re in Terminal D before a long-haul, this is one of the few sit-down places where you can get both a proper meal and a glass of wine without walking over to another terminal. Expect your check for one person with a drink to land in the $30–$45 range after tax and tip.
Service times vary with the departure banks in T-D, but plan for 45–60 minutes from sit-down to paid check if the restaurant is half full or more. If your boarding pass shows a D-gate departure in under 45 minutes, this is risky; go for something quick from a nearby kiosk instead. On the flip side, a 2–3 hour layover out of D12–D40 gives you enough buffer to sit, eat, and still be at the gate 30 minutes before boarding.
Tip: Ask your server right away how long the kitchen is running; late-night flights out of Terminal D after 10:00 p.m. sometimes see reduced menu items as closing approaches.
