Footlongs in Terminal B when you just need something fast

Gate-side in Terminal B, this Subway gives you a known quantity in an airport full of unknowns. It’s standard Subway: build-your-own sandwiches on 6-inch or footlong bread, basic salads, fountain drinks, and cookies. Prices sit a bit higher than street locations, with most footlongs landing around the low-teens once you add tax.

This spot sits post-security in DFW Terminal B, so you’ll need a boarding pass to reach it. It’s useful if your flight leaves from one of the B20–B49 gates and you don’t want to ride the Skylink over to Terminals A or C just to eat. You order at the counter, watch them assemble, then either take it to your gate or grab a table nearby if you can find one.

Menu is the usual suspects: Italian B.M.T., Meatball Marinara, steak and cheese, cold cut combo, veggie, plus whatever limited-time builds Subway happens to be pushing that month. Bread options include Italian, wheat, and the herb & cheese that holds up best in a carry-on bag. Expect to pay extra for double meat, avocado, and guac-style add-ons, just like at non-airport locations.

Lines spike around the 7–9 a.m. morning bank and again from about 4–7 p.m. when American’s Terminal B departures bunch up. Staff moves reasonably fast, but if you see a queue 10 people deep, assume a 10–15 minute wait from door to walking away with your bag. Credit cards are accepted, and tap-to-pay usually works, which helps speed the line.

Practical tip: if you have less than 20 minutes before boarding at a B-gate, ask for your sandwich not toasted and skip extra veggies so it travels better; you can eat half on the jetbridge and save half for the second hour of your flight.
