Gate-side option in Terminal A
Near the middle of Terminal A at DFW, Lorena Garcia Tapas y Cocina gives you a sit-down Latin menu without leaving the concourse. It’s post-security, so you’re eating within sight of A-gates instead of back in the pre-checkpoint food court. Expect a mix of small plates and mains built around seafood, grilled meats, and Latin-style sides.
Figure on airport pricing: appetizers often land in the $10–$15 range and mains push into the mid-$20s, similar to other full-service spots in DFW Terminal A. Portions tend to be bigger than classic Spanish tapas, so two plates per person is usually enough. The bar pours tequila and rum-forward cocktails alongside standard domestic beers and a short wine list.
Food leans on familiar dishes with a twist: think empanadas, plantain sides, and sauced chicken or steak instead of basic burgers and fries. If you like to graze, a couple of sharable starters plus one larger plate works for a 90-minute layover. Seats face directly onto the Terminal A corridor, so you can keep an eye on departures while you eat.
Service time runs in typical airport range: plan for about 15–20 minutes for tapas-style plates to start landing on the table and around 30 minutes total for a quick in-and-out meal. With that timing, this spot fits a 60–90 minute gap between an American Airlines flight into A and your next departure from a nearby A-gate.
Tip: if your flight leaves from gates A1–A8, walk down to the restaurant first, check how busy the bar and tables look, and only sit if you still have at least 45 minutes before boarding starts.
