Cake Bar

D

Slice-only orders at Cake Bar move quickest in Terminal D

Cake Bar sits in DFW Terminal D past security, roughly mid-terminal, and lives up to its name with nothing but cake and a few extras. Expect single slices in the $6–$9 range, plus whole cakes that jump up past $40 if you’re carrying one onto your next flight. There’s minimal seating, so plan on grabbing your box and heading back toward gates like D20–D24 to eat.

The menu rotates through around a dozen flavors, but you’ll usually see standbys like red velvet, classic chocolate, key lime, and pound cake. Slices are thick and heavily frosted, so one piece easily covers a full meal’s worth of sugar. Coffee, milk, and bottled water are available, but you won’t find full espresso drinks or savory food here, just sweets and basic beverages.

Portion sizes are big for an airport spot, which makes Cake Bar a good call if you’re splitting one slice between two people before a long-haul from Terminal D. Whole cakes are boxed for travel, and most airlines at DFW will treat that box like a carry-on from gates in D1–D40, so factor that into your bag count. Staff usually offer to tape the box more securely if you mention you have a tight connection.

Turnaround is fast if you know what you want when you reach the counter; during evening international departures from around 5–9 p.m. lines can stack 8–10 people deep. Popular flavors do sell out by late night, especially on Fridays, so if you care about a specific cake, stop by earlier in the day. Payment is standard airport mix: major cards, mobile pay, and cash.

Tip: flying out of another terminal like A or C? Use the post-security Skylink to swing through Terminal D, grab a slice at Cake Bar, then ride back; budget at least 25–30 minutes gate to gate.
