Cell Phone Lot North

Free waiting area

Free wait, 5–10 minutes from Terminals A–E

Cell Phone Lot North is the free waiting area on the north side of DFW, typically a 5–10 minute drive from Terminals A, B, C, D, and E depending on traffic. It’s meant for drivers who are picking someone up and want to avoid circling the terminal roads or paying for short-term parking.

The lot is open 24/7 and doesn’t charge a fee, even if you sit for a few hours watching the arrivals board. You stay with your car the whole time; this is not a place to park and walk into the terminal. Have your passenger text from the baggage claim level in A–E, then pull out and head to the right terminal once they’re curbside-ready.

There are marked spaces for a few dozen vehicles, so it can feel busy around peak evening arrivals between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Local drivers like it because you can avoid the DFW toll plaza twice by timing your entry and exit to match your passenger’s landing time, instead of paying extra for a 30–60 minute wait in the terminal garages.

You’ll find basic lighting at night and standard roadway signage pointing to “Cell Phone Lot North” as you approach from the north entrance to the airport. There are no restrooms, no food, and no shuttle service tied to this lot, so plan any bathroom or snack stop before you enter the airport loop or after you pick up your passenger.

Tip: Have your rider send a gate number (A, B, C, D, or E plus the gate) and a “bags in hand” text before you leave Cell Phone Lot North; that cuts your curb time to about 5 minutes and keeps the pickup stress low.
