Duty-free liquor at T3 often beats Delhi city prices

Delhi Duty Free in Terminal T3 sits right after immigration for international departures and again in arrivals, and it’s the main stop for liquor, perfume, and tobacco. Flyers on /r/india and FlyerTalk say imported whisky, gin, and cigarettes here can come out cheaper than Delhi liquor vends when the multi-bottle promos are running. You’ll see big stacks of Johnnie Walker, Jack Daniel’s, Absolut, and Marlboro at the front with “2 for” or “3 for” pricing in INR and USD.

The store runs along the T3 international concourse, so you pass it on the walk from security toward most gates between 1 and 27. Shelves lean heavily to imported spirits, Indian whisky, and major fragrance brands. Expect promo tags like “Buy 2 save 20%” or “Extra 10% with card” on select SKUs. Indian labels such as Amrut and Paul John often sit near Scotch in the 2,000–6,000 INR band, but those are frequently cheaper at good city shops.

Perfume and cosmetics counters cover the usual big names, with frequent bundle deals and travel sets. Prices on some skincare and makeup can run higher than Sephora-style chains in Delhi malls once you convert and compare, so this is more “convenient top-up” than serious bargain hunting. Tobacco cartons usually show clear per‑carton savings versus MRP you’ll see in town, especially during festival promo periods.

Best move: check your airline’s duty-free allowance before you hit the till, then quickly scan the promo boards for imported spirits and cigarettes only. Treat Indian whisky and most cosmetics here as a backup option, not your main shop. Take a photo of the shelf price and promo sticker before paying so you can sanity-check the math on the bill near your gate.
