Bracket Room

Gate-side sports bar option in Terminal 2

Bracket Room sits in Terminal 2 at DCA, on the concourse used by American Airlines and several others, so it’s easy to reach during most domestic connections. It functions as a full bar and sit-down spot, not just a grab-and-go counter, which helps if you’ve got 60–90 minutes before boarding and want a real meal instead of another packaged sandwich.

Expect standard sports-bar fare here: burgers, wings, flatbreads, and salads, all priced in the typical airport range with mains running roughly into the mid-teens and bar snacks a bit under that. Portions lean generous enough that one main course can cover you for a short flight up to Boston or down to Charlotte. The bar runs the usual beer lineup plus basic cocktails, so it works fine for a preflight drink without having to hunt through the rest of Terminal 2.

Seating is open to the concourse, which makes it easy to keep an eye on the Terminal 2 gate screens within about 50–100 feet, though you’ll still want to rely on the airline app for boarding alerts. Service pace varies by time of day; during the 5–7 p.m. bank of departures it can take 20–30 minutes for food, while mid-morning or mid-afternoon visits often wrap in under 40 minutes, start to finish.

Menu standbys are the burger and wings, which pair easily with a draft beer, while mixed drinks can feel light for the price compared with what you might get landside in D.C. Alcohol starts roughly in the low teens for cocktails and a few dollars less for beer, so a drink plus entrée can land around the high-$20s before tip. It’s all post-security in Terminal 2, so you’re fine heading here right after TSA rather than eating before screening.

Practical tip: if your departure is out of a far-end Terminal 2 gate, give yourself at least 10–15 minutes to walk back from Bracket Room so you’re not sprinting at boarding group call.
