Priority Pass lists a “Karibu Lounge” in Terminal 3, but no one credible can find it in the current DAR layout.
Terminal 3 at Julius Nyerere International Airport handles most international flights, and that’s the only place this lounge is supposed to exist. Priority Pass still shows “Karibu Lounge – Terminal 3” as an option, but frequent-flyer threads from 2019 through 2024 don’t mention using anything by that name airside.
Every flyer report we checked on DAR Terminal 3 references airline lounges and generic contract lounges, but not a functioning Karibu-branded space. On FlyerTalk, posters discussing T3 in thread 1982731 focus on check-in zones and security timings, with zero Karibu references across multiple pages.
American Express Platinum’s lounge finder for DAR does not show any partner lounge in Terminal 3 under the Karibu name. For a card that usually lists Priority Pass locations, that gap is a strong hint that either the lounge is closed, renamed, or not operating under public branding anymore.
If you land or depart from Terminal 3, you only pass through one main security checkpoint for international departures, and there’s no clear signage mentioning “Karibu Lounge” near the central duty-free zone or the clusters of gates. Flyers posting gate photos from T3 in 2022 and 2023 also don’t show any Karibu logo on the walls.
No current reviews list opening hours, menu details, or shower availability for this lounge, and there are no recent Google Maps pins using the full “Karibu Lounge Terminal 3” name. That lack of hard data in 2024 is very unusual for a working Priority Pass location at an international airport.
At this point, treat Karibu Lounge in Terminal 3 as legacy database info rather than a guaranteed spot to sit. If your Priority Pass access is important for a DAR departure, contact your card issuer or Priority Pass support before flight day and get written confirmation of any operational lounge in T3.
