Drivers who know the airport treat this area as “stop, unload, leave” and switch to Short Stay / Car Park 1 for anything over a few minutes. Car Park 1 is still walkable to T1 in roughly 3–4 minutes and usually works out cheaper for 15–30 minute waits, especially if you’re collecting someone from an inbound flight that might run late.
The Drop Off & Pick Up lane is on-airport, directly off the terminal access road, so you don’t deal with shuttle buses or remote lots. That’s the main advantage over other options on the CWL site.
