Livraria Curitiba

Near T1 check-in, this is the main airport bookstore

Livraria Curitiba sits landside in Terminal T1, handy if you reach CWB early and haven’t cleared security yet. It’s one of the few spots in the airport focused almost entirely on books and media rather than souvenirs. You’ll see it on the public side before the domestic/security filter, so plan a stop here before heading to the gates.

The shop leans heavily into Portuguese-language titles, with bestsellers, local authors, and kids’ books filling most of the shelves. Expect standard Brazilian bookstore pricing, not duty-free discounts, so a new release typically runs in the R$50–R$90 range. There’s also a smaller rack of magazines and puzzle books that works for shorter flights of an hour or two.

Non-book stock is light but useful: basic stationery, a few simple toys, and some gift-y items with Curitiba or Paraná themes. Figure on spending 10–15 minutes to do a full lap of the store, more if you actually read back covers instead of grabbing the first thing you see. Staff usually ring people up quickly, so even a 30-minute buffer before boarding is enough time here.

Selection skews strongly to Portuguese, so English titles are limited and may only fill a shelf or two. If you need a specific foreign-language book for a 9–12 hour long-haul, buy it before you get to the airport. Use this stop instead for a last-minute novel, a children’s book to keep a kid busy, or a crossword booklet you can finish before landing in São Paulo or Rio.
