Right by the New Chitose train platforms, NewDays fills the gap
NewDays sits in the rail area at New Chitose Airport, aimed more at JR passengers than gate-side flyers. It’s before security, near the train ticket machines and platforms for Sapporo and Otaru, so it works well if you’re landing or departing by rail. Think quick konbini run: onigiri, sandwiches, instant noodles, candy, and plenty of Hokkaido soft drinks and tea in the fridges.
Prices match normal JR station NewDays stores, not airport-markup gift shops, so a rice ball runs around ¥150–¥200 and canned coffee sits near ¥130–¥160. You’ll also see seasonal snacks and limited-edition drinks that rotate every few months. Payment is easy: Suica, Kitaca, and other IC cards usually scan faster than cash when you’re racing for the next Rapid Airport train.
Hours vary a bit with train schedules, but expect early morning opening around the first Sapporo-bound departures and closing around the time the later evening trains wrap up. This is not a late-night lifesaver like some 24-hour konbini, so don’t bank on it after 22:00. If you land from a domestic ANA or JAL flight around 21:30, head straight toward the JR station if you need snacks for the ride.
There’s no seating and no hot meal counter, just grab-and-go shelves and drink coolers lined up along the compact floor space. Use it to top up drinks, simple breakfast for the hotel, or train snacks instead of hunting through the larger domestic terminal food court. Tip: load or recharge your IC card at the nearby JR ticket machines first, then tap quickly at NewDays and walk straight down to your platform.
