Sanchoan

★ 3 $$$$

Soba and set meals before your CTS flight instead of ramen

Sanchoan sits airside in the Domestic terminal at New Chitose Airport and leans into soba and Japanese teishoku-style set meals instead of heavy ramen or burgers. Expect a mid-range bill (about $$ by airport standards) and a very middle-of-the-road rating around 3/5, but it fills a niche if you want something lighter before a 2–3 hour hop to Tokyo or Nagoya.

The menu centers on hot and cold soba, plus simple sets with rice, small sides, and miso soup. Reviews call out that cold soba hits the spot in August, while a hot bowl works in January when Hokkaido is below 0°C outside. Portions can feel small for the price, so assume you may spend closer to ¥1,200–¥1,500 per person to walk away actually full.

Compared with the ramen zone in Domestic, travellers say Sanchoan is usually less packed, especially outside the 11:30–13:30 lunch rush. That makes it workable if boarding starts in 30–40 minutes and every ramen shop has a 15+ minute line. Food generally lands at the table in under 10 minutes after ordering, which helps if your gate is only a few minutes away.

Regulars use this place when they want something that won’t sit like a brick for a 90-minute flight to Haneda. One repeat flyer pattern: quick soba here, then dessert from Kinotoya or Royce in the same Domestic side of CTS to tick the “last Hokkaido treat” box. Older family members in reviews get steered here for milder, non-spicy food that still feels like a proper Japanese meal.

Watch out for expectations: several reviewers say the soba texture is only average and not on par with specialist shops in central Sapporo. Given the airport markup and those smaller bowls, ordering an extra side dish or upgrading to a set is usually the move.

Tip: check your gate first; if you’re departing from a far Domestic pier, be done eating here at least 25 minutes before departure to avoid the last-minute sprint.
