Terminal C

3 airlines

Terminal C hosts 3 airlines.

One restroom, three low-cost airlines, and not much else

Terminal C at Catania-Fontanarossa handles easyJet, Eurowings, and Volotea flights and feels more like a boarding shed than a full terminal. It sits as a satellite to Terminal A, with fewer services, fewer seats, and just one restroom for all departing passengers. Think: get in, wait, board.

EasyJet, Eurowings, and Volotea usually check in and drop bags in Terminal A, then funnel passengers over to Terminal C for departure. Walking time from A to C is roughly 5–10 minutes, depending on crowds at CTA. Signs for “Terminal C” start near the main hall of Terminal A, and you move through a basic connector rather than a separate building with its own landside services.

The facilities list is short: one restroom, minimal seating, and typically no named restaurants, lounges, or brand-name shops logged in recent reviews. Skytrax passengers call out that Terminal C actually has fewer options than Terminal A, which itself only has about two restrooms. That gap shows up fast when two or three easyJet flights board close together.

Food choice in Terminal C ranges from weak to non-existent depending on the day and staffing. Multiple Skytrax reviews mention “very few restaurants” in the airport overall and “even fewer” in C, so regulars buy water, snacks, or sandwiches in Terminal A before walking over. If you land hungry and head straight to C, there is a real chance you will end up flying out with only a vending machine snack.

The single restroom in Terminal C is the main pain point. One Skytrax reviewer spells it out: “1 restroom in Terminal C,” compared with two in Terminal A, and both terminals get hit for patchy cleanliness. On busy mornings with easyJet and Volotea departures, that one toilet block can mean a queue that spills into the general seating area.

Parents and anyone with medical needs plan around this. Flyers who use CTA often report stopping at restrooms in Terminal A or landside before heading to C, especially with kids or before early-morning flights. If you wait until you reach the single restroom in C, you may find a line and limited time before boarding starts, especially with 30–40 minute turns on Eurowings or Volotea.

Shops and services in Terminal C are equally thin. Don’t expect a duty-free walk-through, branded fashion, or a proper pharmacy right by the gates. Experienced passengers treat C as “gates plus chairs” and handle last-minute buys like SIM cards, painkillers, sunscreen, and power adapters in town or in Terminal A, where at least a few outlets exist, before walking over.

The atmosphere can feel bare and a bit chaotic when more than one flight boards at the same time. With three low-cost carriers pushing tight turnarounds and limited seating, you can see passengers sitting on the floor or against walls near the gates. Power outlets are sparse, so charge your phone in Terminal A or at your hotel; don’t count on finding a free socket next to your seat in C, especially near peak times like 06:00–09:00.

No lounges operate in Terminal C as of the latest review cycle, and none of the airline-branded lounges for easyJet, Eurowings, or Volotea exist at CTA anyway. If you hold a Priority Pass or similar card, you are still walking out of luck once you commit to C; any quiet time, email catching-up, or proper coffee break needs to happen in Terminal A or off-airport before you clear security.

Practical tip: eat, use the restroom, and fill a water bottle in Terminal A before you walk the 5–10 minutes over to Terminal C; then treat C as a short-stay holding pen and board as soon as your easyJet, Eurowings, or Volotea flight opens.
