TEC A2

Bus

Bus 40 min

Ryanair crowd on a budget usually piles onto TEC A2

The TEC A2 bus links Brussels South Charleroi Airport to local Walloon towns in roughly 40 minutes, trading speed for price compared with heading into Brussels. It runs mainly for cost-focused Ryanair and Wizz Air passengers coming into Terminals T1 and T2 who are connecting onward by regional bus instead of train.

Departures run about every 60 minutes, so you build your schedule around the bus, not the other way around. The A2 is a multi-stop regional line, so factor in dwell time at intermediate stops and don’t treat the 40-minute figure like an express guarantee. If your flight lands late at night, double-check the last departure time for that specific day.

How to ride TEC A2 step by step

  • 1. Exit arrivals in T1 or T2: Follow the “Bus” pictograms from baggage claim; both terminals feed into the same forecourt, about a 3–5 minute walk from the belts.
  • 2. Find the TEC stops: Look for yellow TEC signage at the main bus bays in front of the terminal; the A2 line number is printed on the front and side of the buses.
  • 3. Check the timetable: Confirm the next A2 on the printed stop board or digital screen so you’re not accidentally boarding the airport–Brussels coach instead.
  • 4. Buy your ticket: Use the TEC ticket machine near the bays or pay the driver in cash; prices are lower from the machine than onboard, so it is worth the extra 2–3 minutes.
  • 5. Board at the front door: Validate any smartcard or printed ticket in the reader next to the driver, then move toward the middle seats if you have hand luggage only.
  • 6. Watch for your stop: The A2 makes several intermediate stops over those 40 minutes; keep an eye on the stop list or map in the bus to avoid overshooting your town.
  • 7. Keep one bus earlier than you think: If you are heading back to catch a flight from T1 or T2, plan to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before departure and take the previous A2 in case of traffic.

Practical tip: Screenshot the A2 timetable and stop list while on airport Wi‑Fi in T1 or T2 so you are not guessing once your data signal drops outside Charleroi.
