Gate-side prices without downtown tax: that’s Tax Free in T3
Tax Free in Terminal 3 sits airside on the main passenger flow between security and the non-Schengen gates, so you basically walk through it on the way to most long-haul flights. It’s the big duty free with cosmetics on one side and liquor and tobacco on the other, all under the standard Copenhagen Airport price scheme. Think mainstream airport duty free rather than boutique shop browsing.
Expect the usual Scandinavian focus: plenty of Aquavit and snaps, big sections of gin and whisky, and shelves of Danish chocolate brands alongside global names. Prices on spirits and cosmetics generally beat central Copenhagen shop tags by a noticeable margin, especially if you’re used to SEK or NOK pricing. Snacks and candy run closer to regular supermarket levels, so this is more about tax savings on higher-ticket items than on chips for the flight.
Tax Free in T3 keeps hours matched to the main departure banks, typically opening well before the early SAS morning wave and staying open until the late-evening European departures thin out. That means you can usually shop after a tight inbound connection, even on the last flights to London or Frankfurt. Lines at the central checkout can spike right after security when several A321 and 737 loads hit at once, but the queue movement is brisk compared to most European hubs.
Best play: walk straight through on arrival from security, note where your brands and bottle sizes sit, then circle back about 20–30 minutes before boarding once the initial crowd has cleared.
