Einstein Bros Bagels

New to COS Terminal 1, Einstein Bros Bagels finally gives this small airport a recognizable coffee-and-breakfast name. It’s inside security in the main departures area, so you’re covered after TSA. Expect the usual national-chain menu: bagels, egg sandwiches, shmears, coffee drinks, and a few lunch options. Pricing typically runs around $4–$5 for a basic bagel with cream cheese and $7–$9 for breakfast sandwiches at other locations, so budget on that range here until local data rolls in.

Hours aren’t widely published yet, but at similar regional airports Einstein Bros usually opens around the first bank of departures, roughly 4:30–5:00 a.m., and closes by early evening, often near the last main departure push around 7:00–8:00 p.m. If you’ve got a 6:00 a.m. flight out of Gate 1–12, this is likely to be one of the few spots awake with hot coffee. Late-night options at COS are historically thin, so don’t count on a post-9:00 p.m. snack here.

Menu-wise, think standard chain hits: a bacon, egg & cheese on an everything bagel, a plain bagel with onion & chive shmear, plus drip coffee and espresso drinks. Expect medium coffees in the $3–$5 range based on other Einstein Bros airport outlets. Since there are no early reviews for the COS shop, assume quality tracks with a typical mall or campus location: fine for a fast carb and caffeine hit, not destination dining.

No solid “regulars’ tricks” yet, but one pattern from other airports: people order a couple of extra bagels to go and skip buying breakfast on the return leg. With bagels usually holding up for a few hours, that’s a usable move if you’re connecting through Denver or Dallas later the same day. Watch for pre-made sandwiches in the case during rush times; they speed things up when a 30-minute boarding countdown is staring at you from Gate 5.

Practical tip: build in an extra 10 minutes before your COS departure if you want a toasted bagel; early-opening food outlets at smaller airports like this can move slower than the Starbucks line you’re used to at DEN or DFW.
