Coach parking

Gate-side tour groups use the Bus Parking Bay as home base

The Bus Parking Bay at Cochin International Airport sits in the coach parking zone serving T1, T2 and T3 arrivals, and it’s built for full-size tourist buses rather than private cars. Drivers pull in here to stage group pickups instead of clogging the regular car park lanes. If you’re meeting a pre-booked coach, odds are it lines up in this dedicated bay, not at the regular arrivals kerb.

This is coach-only parking, so expect marked slots long enough for 40–50 seater buses and tempo travellers, not sedans or SUVs. Private vehicles and taxis get directed to the main car parks near T1, T2 or T3, while tour operators and hotel shuttles use the Bus Parking Bay to wait between runs. If your operator gives you a bay number, head straight there after you exit the terminal.

You usually reach the Bus Parking Bay via the signed coach lanes off the main airport access road, a short drive from the terminal forecourts serving T1, T2 and T3. Security staff control entry and may record plate numbers for commercial coaches. If you’re walking out from arrivals, plan on at least a few extra minutes compared with crossing to the standard car park right opposite the terminal doors.

Pricing here normally follows commercial vehicle or coach tariffs rather than the standard car parking slabs posted for T1, T2 and T3, with charges based on entry and duration. Many tour groups roll the coach parking fee into the package price, so passengers never see the bill. If you’re the operator or driver, confirm current coach rates at the airport information counter or with airport parking staff before a long wait.

One practical tip: when you land at COK, get your bus’s exact parking point by WhatsApp or SMS before you leave the baggage belt in T1, T2 or T3, so you’re not hunting across multiple bays in the Kerala heat.
