Airport Shuttle Services runs shared shuttles from Cairns Airport into town in about 30–45 minutes, depending on traffic and how many hotels are on the run. Services operate from both T1 (International) and T2 (Domestic), so you don’t have to switch terminals to find a pickup point.

Shuttles load outside the arrivals areas at T1 and T2, with drivers grouping passengers by hotel or central drop-off. Allow at least 10–15 minutes after scheduled pickup for everyone to board, since this isn’t a private transfer and there may be multiple stops.

Official pricing isn’t consistently published, so treat the fare as “ask on the day or when you book”. Some operators bundle return tickets, others charge per sector, and a few adjust rates for very late-night or early-morning runs tied to international arrivals at T1.

Plan around the 30–45 minute ride time if you’re heading back to the airport. For an international departure out of T1, aim to leave your hotel about 2.5–3 hours before flight time; for domestic flights out of T2, 2 hours usually covers both shuttle and check-in.

Frequency isn’t fixed on a strict clock-face schedule, and services often cluster around banked departures and arrivals for Cairns. If you have a late-evening international flight from T1 or a very early domestic from T2, pre-book and confirm the pickup time at least 24 hours out.

Shuttles generally have space for standard checked bags and a carry-on, but if you’re rolling with oversize dive gear or surfboards, mention it when booking. Some runs from T1 may need to allocate extra space or charge a bit more for bulky items.

Tip: When you land, head straight to the shuttle desk or pickup zone at T1 or T2 before stopping for food or ATMs; filling a van load can take time, and getting on the earlier shuttle can save you 30 minutes of waiting curbside.
