Chik-fil-A

Spicy Chicken Sandwich in T concourse

By the time you hit the single concourse at CMH T, Chick-fil-A is the most predictable food name on the board if you just want a chicken sandwich and waffle fries before boarding. It sits post-security in the main departures stretch, so you can grab food for any A, B, or C gate without backtracking through the checkpoint.

Standard chain menu applies here: original and spicy chicken sandwiches, nuggets, grilled options, waffle fries, lemonade, and breakfast items like the Chick-n-Minis until around 10:30 a.m. Prices track with typical airport markup, so expect a sandwich combo to land in the $10–$13 range instead of what you’d pay at a Columbus suburban location.

Hours usually run early morning through the dinner bank, roughly 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., but Sundays are a hard closed day per chain policy. If you fly through CMH on a Sunday evening and bank on chicken, you’ll find the lights off and will need to shift to another T concourse option like Donatos or Burger King.

Food quality and speed line up with the broader brand reputation: hot fries, consistent chicken, and orders handled via counter plus the usual number system. During the 6:30–8:30 a.m. rush and the 4:00–6:00 p.m. departure wave, the line can snake 15–20 people deep, but turnover is quick enough that you usually have food in under 10–12 minutes.

Watch out for limited seating right outside the storefront; the immediate tables fill during those morning and evening banks, so you may end up carrying your tray down toward gates C52–C54 or eating at your actual gate seats.

Tip: if you see more than 10 people in line and your boarding pass shows “group 1–3” with less than 25 minutes to departure, order to-go, skip the sit-down, and eat at the gate so you don’t hear the first boarding call from the register.
