Blue Long-Term Lot

Economy parking

Closest shuttle ride without paying CMH garage rates

The Blue Long-Term Lot sits in the economy zone but runs the shortest shuttle hop to Terminal T among the color lots. Shuttles run on the same 15–18 minute loop as Red and Green, but Blue dumps you at the terminal a bit sooner, which matters if you’re cutting it close on an early morning flight.

This is standard economy parking with uncovered surface spaces and no posted daily rate on the airport site, so plan for pricing to land between the cheaper Green lot and the on-site garage. A TravelCar write-up calls Blue the closest color lot to the terminal, and frequent flyers back that up, saying the ride feels noticeably shorter than from Green when traffic around CMH backs up.

EV drivers should skip Blue entirely: the airport parking page lists charging in the Red lot and the garage, but not here. Locals on r/Columbus describe Blue as a “tweener” option—more expensive than Green but still not a walkable alternative to the garage, so it doesn’t inspire many regulars to pick it as their first choice.

In practice, frequent flyers say they land in Blue when Red looks slammed and Green feels like too much of a detour. One traveler reported using Blue “once when Red was slammed,” liked the quick shuttle, but said it wasn’t cheap enough to hunt for again. Another common move: time-sensitive flyers aim straight for Blue on tight departures, trading a few extra dollars over Green for that slightly shorter ride.

Watch out on peak holiday weekends: one user said Blue “looked full” and they bailed to Red because they couldn’t spot clear overflow signs. If you’re parking here, build in at least 30 minutes from lot entrance to the T security checkpoint, so a crowded loop or full row doesn’t put your boarding time at risk.
