Long Term Lot 2

Economy parking

$10/day is the draw at CLT’s Long Term Lot 2

Daily rates at Long Term Lot 2 sit in the economy tier, making it one of Charlotte Douglas International Airport’s cheapest on-airport options when the main Long Term and Daily decks start to fill. This is a surface lot used as spillover during peak periods, so it often opens up when closer garages near the Main Terminal are already marked full on the roadway signs.

Long Term Lot 2 is off Josh Birmingham Parkway, on airport property but farther from the Main Terminal than the parking decks directly across from check-in. Parking is uncovered, so cars sit in the open sun and rain. You pay on exit at the lot’s gate system using a ticket pulled on entry, and the rate structure is by 24-hour period rather than by hour once you pass the first daily cap.

Shuttles run between Long Term Lot 2 and the Main Terminal curb, with typical ride times around 7–10 minutes when traffic around CLT is normal. Buses pick up and drop off at marked shelters in the lot, then stop at the terminal’s lower-level baggage claim area for both departures and arrivals. Factor in an extra 15–20 minutes for parking and shuttle time on top of your TSA wait if you’re using this lot for a morning bank of flights.

There’s no reserved parking or EV charging in Long Term Lot 2, and stalls are first-come, first-served across several rows marked by letters and numbers. Keep a photo of your row marker on your phone so you can find your car quickly after a late arrival. If you land after midnight, confirm shuttle frequency posted at the stop so you’re not standing curbside longer than necessary.

Tip: Watch the electronic roadway signs near the airport entrance; if Long Term Lot 2 shows as open while others read full, just commit and head straight there instead of circling closer decks.
