Build-your-own burritos in Main Terminal at CHS

Moe’s Southwest Grill sits inside the Main Terminal at Charleston International (CHS), past security, and it’s the only spot in the airport doing build-your-own Tex-Mex burritos and bowls. Think assembly-line style like you’d see at a typical Moe’s: pick your tortilla, protein, rice, beans, salsa, and toppings as you move down the counter. It hits that gap between a grab-and-go sandwich and a full sit-down meal when you need something more filling before a Delta, American, or United departure.

Expect standard Moe’s pricing for an airport: burritos and bowls usually land in the $10–$14 range depending on protein, with chicken running cheaper than steak. Portions are big enough that one burrito or bowl can easily cover a 2–3 hour flight. Chips and salsa come with most orders, so factor that into how hungry you actually are before you say yes to extra queso or guac.

Moe’s keeps typical daytime airport hours, opening early enough for late-morning departures and staying open into the evening bank of flights; if you’re on something after 8–9 p.m., don’t count on it. The line builds around noon and again around the 5–7 p.m. push when the Main Terminal gets busy with business travelers. If your boarding pass says boarding at 12:30, get in line before 12:00 and you’ll usually have time to eat at the gate.

The safe orders: a burrito bowl with double protein if you want maximum calories, or a regular chicken burrito if you need something you can eat one-handed at the gate. Queso is decent but salty, so skip it if you’re watching sodium on a long-haul connection up to JFK or ATL. Salsa bar options rotate, but the medium usually carries more flavor than heat.

Tip: order a bowl and ask for a tortilla on the side; it travels better in a paper bag if you end up speed-walking back to gates A1–A5 before boarding.
