Jersey Mike’s Subs

0

Made-to-order subs are rare at CHS’s Main Terminal

Most spots near the Main concourse lean on grab-and-go fridges; Jersey Mike’s Subs stands out by slicing meats to order and building cold and hot sandwiches right in front of you. It sits airside in the Main terminal, past security, so you can order and walk straight to gates like B5–B8 without backtracking.

Standard regular-size subs run around typical airport pricing, with upgrades to giant sizes if you want one sandwich to cover a long connection or a late arrival. Expect the usual numbered menu: classics like the #7 Turkey & Provolone and the #17 Famous Philly, plus a few chicken cheesesteaks and Italian combos. They’ll run it “Mike’s Way” if you ask, with onions, lettuce, tomato, vinegar, oil, and spices.

Service pace tracks with flight banks: around mid-morning and again from about 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., lines can stack 8–10 deep as departures bunch up. Early flights before 8:00 a.m. see more of a trickle, and you can usually get in and out in under 10 minutes. Subs are made fresh, so budget a few extra minutes compared to picking up a wrapped sandwich from a cooler.

Quality is standard Jersey Mike’s, just at airport prices: bread baked that day, meats sliced when you order, and hot subs run through the grill to finish. If you want something filling, the regular-size cheesesteaks and Italian subs hit harder than the turkey or ham options. Portions on the giant size can easily cover two people or one long-haul appetite.

Tip: If your flight boards in 30 minutes or less, order a regular cold sub “no toast” and skip extra customization; it usually shaves 3–5 minutes off your wait compared with hot subs or heavily tweaked orders.
