Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Grill

One of CHS’s few golf-themed grills sits in Main

Jack Nicklaus Golden Bear Grill sits past security in the Main terminal at Charleston International, a quieter sit-down spot compared to the nearby grab-and-go stands. It leans into the Golden Bear branding with golf photos and merch, so it feels more like a neighborhood sports grill than an airport bar. You’re still right by the gates, but it’s calmer than the center food court cluster.

Hours generally track with the bank of morning and evening departures, opening for early flights and staying open into the late-afternoon rush; if you have a 6:00 a.m. boarding time, you can usually get breakfast first. Expect typical airport pricing: burgers and sandwiches often land in the $14–$18 range before tax, with draft beer and cocktails pushing a $10–$15 tab. It’s full table service, so budget another 20–30 minutes on top of eating time.

The menu runs through grill basics: a house burger, chicken sandwich, a salad or two, and bar snacks that pair with a cold drink. Portions skew generous for an airport; one burger with fries can easily cover a full meal between a CLT–CHS hop and a longer leg north. If you’re tight on time for a 40-minute connection, stick to a sandwich or salad that comes out of the kitchen faster than anything grilled to a specific temp.

Bar seating lines one side of the space, but most travelers pick the standard four-tops away from the TVs for a quieter 30–40 minute sit-down. Servers are used to gate-clock anxiety and can usually turn a check in under 10 minutes once you ask. If you’re on a tight boarding window, tell them your gate and departure time when you order so they can pace the meal.

Tip: Check the live TSA queue before you commit; this spot makes the most sense after you’ve cleared security and have at least 45 minutes before boarding at Main.
