Gate-side coffee at T1
Right in Terminal 1 at Chania (CHQ), Gregory’s covers the basics: coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and quick snacks before your flight. It sits airside in the main departures area, so you can grab something after security without backtracking through the terminal. Expect a Greek bakery-café vibe with croissants, cheese pies, and drinks you can carry straight to your gate.
Gregory’s usually opens early in the morning to catch the first departures out of T1 and stays open through the last evening flights in peak season. Prices run higher than in town but normal for an airport: think around €3–€4 for coffee and similar for a pastry or small snack. Seating is limited, so plan on taking your order to the gate area if it looks busy.
Coffee is the main draw here, especially freddo espresso and freddo cappuccino, which fit a hot Crete departure day better than a heavy meal. You also see basic sandwiches and packaged snacks that work for short hops to Athens or nearby islands. For something more filling than crisps and chocolate, aim for a sandwich or pie instead of the sweeter treats.
One tip: lines stack up right before mid-morning and early afternoon departures out of T1. If you care about coffee more than an extra five minutes of Wi‑Fi, hit Gregory’s as soon as you clear security, then walk to your gate with everything in hand.
