Right before T1 departures security, Everest covers the basics

Everest sits in the Departures Free Access Area of Chania’s T1, just before security, so you can grab something even if you’re only dropping someone off. It runs on a typical Greek airport schedule, opening early for morning departures and staying open through the last flights. Expect a standard Greek fast-food setup: coffee bar, pastries, simple sandwiches, and packaged snacks you can carry past the checkpoint.

Prices sit in normal airport territory: a coffee costs more than in town but not outrageous for Crete, and a quick sandwich or pastry usually falls in the mid-single digits in euros. Portion sizes skew light, so think snack rather than full meal if you have a long wait. It’s useful for topping up on water and soft drinks before security, especially if your airline charges onboard.

Seating is limited right by the counter, and because it’s landside in T1 Departures, it can feel busy around peak check-in times for the UK and German flights. Service is usually quick: you order at the counter, pay, and walk away with everything on a tray or in a bag within a few minutes. Quality is what you’d expect from a Greek airport chain: decent coffee, fresh-enough baked goods, and very basic hot food if available.

Tip: If your queue for security at T1 already looks long, grab your coffee and snacks here at Everest first; once you’re airside at Chania, food options are fewer and lines can move slower close to boarding.
