The EV Charging Bays at Christchurch International Airport (terminal T) sit inside the main airport parking setup and are priced at the standard parking rate of over NZD 32 per day for long stays. You pay for parking time, not for kWh separately, so this suits trips where the car will sit for multiple days rather than a quick airport dash.
This is a standard electric vehicle charging option, not an ultra-fast DC site, so expect slower top-ups compared with the Memorial Ave fast chargers that advertise higher kW output. Treat the airport bays as “park and sip” rather than “arrive empty, leave full in 30 minutes.” If you land late at night, your car should still have gained a useful chunk while you were away.
Because there are limited EV Charging Bays compared with the total airport parking capacity, spaces can tighten during school holidays and long weekends. If you’re flying on a Friday afternoon in peak season, get to the airport parking area at least 20–30 minutes earlier than you normally would to avoid circling.
