Travel Value Shop

1

Near Terminal 1 security, Travel Value Shop is the quick stop for duty-free basics before you head to the A and B gates.

This shop sits airside in Terminal 1, so you hit it after security, not before check-in. Think classic European duty free: cosmetics, perfume, liquor, chocolate, and tobacco lined up along a single main path toward the gates. Prices track standard duty-free levels for Germany, with spirits and tobacco usually beating city-centre shops by a few euros per bottle or carton.

Opening hours typically mirror the main flight banks out of Terminal 1, with early morning operations from around 05:00 until late evening departures calm down. You’ll see the usual big brands in fragrance and skincare, plus German chocolates and sweets that travel well as gifts. Snacks and small 100 ml toiletries are here too if security just took your shampoo.

Payment is straightforward: euros in cash, common credit cards, and contactless all work at the standard manned tills. Expect basic plastic carrier bags and the sealed duty-free security bags for liquids if you’re connecting onward from Cologne Bonn Airport (CGN). Alcohol runs from miniatures around €5 to larger bottles in the €20–€40 band depending on brand.

Stock isn’t huge compared with mega hubs, but Travel Value Shop in T1 usually covers last-minute needs without a long walk from most gates. If you’re tight on time, check the queue at the main central till area; if it’s more than 10 people deep, skip browsing and head straight for what you already know you want.
