It runs long hours aligned with early morning flights and late-night arrivals, so 06:00–22:00 coverage is a safe bet. You’ll see the standard European mix: spirits, wine, perfume, cosmetics, tobacco, chocolates, and some last-minute souvenirs with “Köln/Bonn” on them.

Alcohol pricing is typically better than downtown, especially on 1L bottles of whisky and gin compared to 0.7L supermarket bottles. Look for multi-buy offers on big-brand spirits and duty-free exclusive packs; those are usually the only real savings versus local shops. Perfume and cosmetics follow the usual airport pattern: sometimes 10–20% below German high-street prices on big houses, less so on niche brands.

Snacks and chocolate run closer to convenience-store pricing than discount-supermarket deals, so grab Ritter Sport or Haribo in the city if you care about every euro. The shop also carries basic travel extras like plug adapters, small power banks and travel-sized toiletries, handy if you’re leaving from Gate areas near the middle of Terminal 2 and don’t want to walk back landside.

Spirit buyers should check their final destination: if you connect outside the EU, make sure bottles are sealed in a proper STEB bag with the receipt inside. Practical tip: walk the full length of the store once, note the offers on 1L bottles and perfume gift sets, then decide at the back wall rather than grabbing the first end-cap promo you see.
