China Duty Free in Terminal T2 sits airside on the international departures level, right after passport control and security. You pass it on the way to most T2 gates, so it’s an easy stop without extra walking. This is the main duty-free operator in Guangzhou Baiyun’s newer terminal, so expect the usual big-brand focus rather than local souvenirs.

Cosmetics and perfume take up a large chunk of floor space, with the familiar global names lined up under bright lighting. Prices track typical mainland duty-free rates; you’ll usually beat downtown retail but not by a huge margin. Tobacco and liquor sections sit closer to the cashier area, with multi-bottle promos targeted at regional flyers heading to hubs like SIN, HKG, and BKK.

High-end fashion, bags, and watches run along the perimeter, geared to long-haul routes through T2 such as flights to Europe and Australia. Staff generally speak Mandarin and at least some English, and you can pay with UnionPay, major credit cards, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. Stock leans international rather than Guangzhou-specific, so don’t expect much in the way of local tea beyond a few gift boxes.

Lines at the main T2 China Duty Free checkout can spike 30–40 minutes before big banked departures, especially around evening flights. If you care about price checking, screenshot online prices first; refunds or adjustments after purchase are tricky once you clear the gate area. Tip: do a quick walk-through on the way to your gate, then buy on the way back if your flight shows at least 20 minutes to boarding.
