Alcohol in this lounge costs extra, even after you pay to get in.

The VIP Lounge in Guangzhou Baiyun T2 keeps straightforward hours: it opens at 06:00 and closes at 22:00. It sits airside in Terminal 2, so you only get here after security. Access is pay-in only, so any airline, any cabin, as long as you’re willing to swipe a card at the desk.

Entry pricing isn’t well documented online, but reports for similar CAN pay-in lounges run in the RMB 200–300 band for a 2–3 hour stay, so budget along those lines. That fee usually covers seating, basic buffet food, soft drinks, Wi‑Fi, and shower access. Alcoholic drinks then add a separate charge on top, which catches people who assume “VIP” means open bar.

This space mirrors the Easy Boarding VIP setup in T1’s East Pier 1, Level 3: functional, generic, and mainly about getting away from the main terminal crowds. You’re through security already in T2, so it’s a shorter walk than trying to reach anything landside. Figure on standard lounge seating zones with a mix of armchairs and basic work tables instead of true lie‑flat rest areas.

Food expectations should stay modest. At similar Guangzhou pay lounges you usually see a small hot line with 2–4 dishes, plus noodles, instant snacks, and simple desserts. It fills the gap on a long layover, but it’s not a destination meal when T2 still has full restaurants open into the evening. If you’re picky, eat in the main terminal first and use the lounge for coffee, soft drinks, and a seat.

One clear plus: complimentary Wi‑Fi and showers. Bring flip‑flops and your own toiletries in a 100 ml kit, because smaller CAN lounges often hand out basic amenity packs only when stock allows. With a 3–4 hour layover, a shower and quiet chair can feel worth more than another hour at a gate full of boarding calls.

Tip: if you don’t need a shower or Wi‑Fi, and your layover is under 90 minutes, skip the pay-in and grab a quick meal in T2’s public dining instead; you’ll save cash and stay closer to your gate.
