Priority Pass gets you into the Premium Lounge in T1

This Premium Lounge sits airside in Terminal 1 at Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN) and shows up in many apps under the generic “Premium Lounge” name, so double-check you’re actually in T1 before following old “Terminal A/East 1” reviews. It’s one of the few Priority Pass options in this terminal, so expect it to be on the radar for most bank lounge card holders flying out of T1.

Hours vary by day and flight banks, but reports peg opening from early morning to late evening to cover most international departures from T1. Priority Pass card plus same-day boarding pass is the standard entry combo, and some programs limit stays to around 3 hours. If you’re on a tight layover of under 60 minutes, skip the walk and stay at the gate; security and boarding at CAN can be slow by the 40-minute mark.

Food is classic mainland airport lounge fare: think hot trays of rice and noodles, some basic meat dishes, and simple snacks. You usually see self-serve drinks, including canned soft drinks and basic tea and coffee, but don’t count on premium spirits or barista coffee at this price point. If you want something more substantial or specific, factor in 60–75 RMB for a restaurant meal in the main T1 concourse instead of treating the lounge as your only food stop.

Seating runs to standard armchairs and small tables, with enough power outlets to keep a phone and laptop charged, though older seats may only have a single shared socket between two chairs. Wi‑Fi uses the airport system, which means you might need SMS verification with a mainland China number; plan around a 5–10 minute setup the first time you connect. Noise levels track the departure waves from nearby T1 gates, so don’t expect library quiet during evening international banks.

Showers are sometimes mentioned for Premium Lounges at CAN, but setups differ between terminals, and documentation for the T1-branded Premium Lounge is thin. If you absolutely need a shower before a long-haul flight, build in at least 20–30 minutes buffer and confirm at the front desk before settling in with food or drinks. Best move: check your gate number and walking time in T1 first, then decide if the lounge stop actually fits your schedule.
