Level 2 chargers at BUR help top off while you’re away
In the main parking structures at Hollywood Burbank (Terminals A and B), there are only a handful of EV charging spaces, and they’re often full by Sunday night. Think of these Level 2 plugs as bonus juice while you’re parked, not a guaranteed part of your trip plan. Spots sit in the on-airport garages, so walking time to the terminal is usually under 5–7 minutes.
Rates follow standard BUR garage pricing, so you pay normal daily parking plus whatever the charger or app bills. Most reports point to typical Level 2 speeds, roughly 6–7 kW, which adds range slowly over several hours. That’s fine for a 2–3 day trip, less helpful if you’re rolling in with 8% battery and a 40‑minute check‑in window.
Google Maps photos show a small cluster of marked EV stalls inside at least one terminal garage, but exact counts and levels aren’t clearly published by the airport. Some EV drivers also complain that gas cars park in the signed EV spots, with little visible enforcement from staff. Expect to circle a bit if you land here on a Sunday after 6 p.m.
Regulars with EVs say they arrive at least 30–45 minutes earlier than usual if they really want a charger. Many instead top up at home and use public DC fast chargers along I‑5 or the 170 before or after the airport, treating BUR’s Level 2 units as a nice surprise when open. That strategy avoids starting or ending a trip hunting for one of four or five unknown stalls.
Tip: Screenshot the EV locations from recent Google Maps photos before you drive in so you can head straight to the right level instead of looping the entire structure.
