Gate-side seating at Terminal 2 makes The Terrace an easy option

The Terrace sits airside in Terminal 2 at Budapest Liszt Ferenc, a short walk from several Schengen gates. It runs through most of the day in line with peak departures, so you can usually get a hot meal from early morning outbound banks through late-afternoon flights. Expect standard airport pricing: around €4–€5 for coffee drinks, about €6–€8 for pastries or light bites, and mains landing roughly in the €10–€15 bracket.

Food leans casual European café: think sandwiches, salads, and simple hot dishes you can finish in under 25 minutes if your boarding time is tight. Portions are moderate, not huge, so plan on a main plus a pastry if you’re actually hungry after a 2–3 hour layover. There’s table service at most seats, but staff will often point you to the counter to pay first at busy times.

Drinks run from basic espresso to draft beer and wine by the glass, with coffee usually arriving in under 5 minutes. A standard espresso hovers around €2.50–€3, while a beer sits closer to €5–€6. It’s a decent spot if you want a beer before a Wizz Air or Ryanair departure without committing to a full restaurant meal.

Seating looks out toward the terminal windows, so you get some aircraft and apron views when traffic is rolling on the 13R/31L side. Power outlets are limited along the rail-side tables, so if you need to charge a laptop to 100% before a 3-hour flight, grab one of the wall-adjacent seats first and plug in before you order.

Tip: check your gate on the monitors by The Terrace before you sit; some non-Schengen flights at Terminal 2 start boarding a full 40 minutes early, and the farthest gates can still be a 7–10 minute walk from your table.
