Gate-side carbs win at Frank’s Deli in Terminal 2

By the Schengen gates in Terminal 2, Frank’s Deli runs as a basic fast-food counter that gets you fed in under 10 minutes. It’s post-security, so it works for tight connections inside the A/B pier. You order at the counter, grab a tray, and find a stool or one of the small café tables looking out toward the apron.

Prices sit in the low bracket for BUD: expect around €4–6 (roughly 1,600–2,400 HUF) for a sandwich or hot dog, plus another €2–3 for coffee, soft drinks, or bottled water. It’s one of the cheaper food options in Terminal 2, especially compared with the bigger sit-down spots closer to passport control.

Food is basic fast fare: think pre-made sandwiches, panini pressed to order, hot dogs, and simple pastries. Items are held in a refrigerated case, then heated, so quality swings a bit depending on how long something has sat. If you care, pick items that were just restocked within the last 30–60 minutes rather than the last lonely croissant in the corner.

Frank’s Deli runs daily until 21:00, which covers most afternoon and evening departures out of Terminal 2. It’s useful if you land from a short-haul flight hungry at 18:00 and don’t want to deal with a bar tab or a slower restaurant. In the early morning, your options lean more toward coffee and pastries; by mid-day the hot items and sandwiches are usually fully loaded.

Service is counter-only and quick: even with a short line of 5–6 people, you’re generally in and out in under 5 minutes. Card payment in HUF and euros is accepted, and tap-to-pay works on most international cards. Don’t expect elaborate custom orders; staff mostly stick to what’s in the display.

Tip: if your gate is in the low A-teens, grab your sandwich here before walking down the concourse; some remote gates near the A10–A12 area have only vending machines and coffee stands.
