Curbside

Rideshare pickup sits directly on the Main Terminal curb

The rideshare pickup area at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) uses the same curbside zone outside the Main Terminal used for general passenger pickup. This means your driver meets you just outside baggage claim, steps from the terminal doors, without any shuttle or secondary lot.

After landing at BTR’s Main Terminal, collect bags from the single baggage claim area before you request a ride so your driver is not circling the curb for more than a few minutes. The curbside roadway in front of the terminal is short, so drivers can only wait briefly before airport police move them along.

How to use rideshare pickup at BTR

  • 1. Turn off airplane mode at the gate so your app (Uber, Lyft, or other) can load your location at Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, code BTR.
  • 2. Walk to baggage claim on the first level of the Main Terminal and grab your luggage from the single carousel before confirming your ride request.
  • 3. Set your pickup pin to “Arrivals curb” or the closest Main Terminal curbside option shown in the app, matching the arrivals level where cars pull up.
  • 4. Exit through the doors by baggage claim and stand on the outer curb so your driver can pull in without blocking other cars already at the inner curb.
  • 5. Check the license plate and car model in the app before getting in, and confirm your name with the driver to avoid taking a ride meant for someone else.

Watch the in-app ETA and only step to the curb when your driver is 2–3 minutes away, since curbside enforcement at BTR’s Main Terminal limits waiting and drivers may be asked to loop the roadway. One final tip: drop a pin a few feet away from the terminal doors if the app struggles to lock onto the exact curbside point; that helps the driver find you faster in front of the Main Terminal.
