Pre-book a car before you land at BTR
At Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR), limousine services are pre-booked only, so you can’t just walk up and hire one from the Main terminal curb. You’ll need a confirmed reservation with a local limo or black car company before your flight arrives or before you leave home.
All passenger operations at BTR run through the Main terminal, so your driver will meet you outside the single arrivals area near baggage claim. Plan to switch your phone off airplane mode as soon as you land so the driver can call or text you with the exact pickup point along the arrivals curb.
Because limousine service at BTR is not on-demand, you typically book online or by phone at least 24 hours in advance. Most companies quote flat rates from the airport to downtown Baton Rouge or LSU, then add surcharges for late-night pickups after 22:00 or extra stops along the way.
Limousines and black cars use the same arrivals-level roadway as regular passenger vehicles, so build in 5–10 minutes after landing to collect checked bags at baggage claim before you walk outside. If you’re hand-luggage only, tell the driver your flight number so they can watch the actual arrival time and move up their curbside slot.
For departures from BTR, most limousine companies ask you to be ready at your pickup address at least 2.5 hours before a domestic flight, since they need about 20–30 minutes to run from central Baton Rouge to the Main terminal curb and drop you at the departures doors.
Tip: When you book, give the company your airline, flight number, and scheduled time at BTR’s Main terminal; that keeps the driver updated on delays and cuts down on waiting fees if your flight slides by 30–60 minutes.
