Ritazza

T1 $$$$

By the T1 gates, this is the “second coffee” stop

Ritazza in Bristol Airport T1 sits inside departures near the gates, so you can watch the boarding screens while they pull your espresso. Think small kiosk, not lounge: mainly coffee, pastries, and pre-made sandwiches, with prices higher than the high street. One reviewer quotes paying over £4 for a basic latte, which lines up with typical £3.50–£5 drink prices airside.

Opening hours track the early departures, often from around first check-ins to late evening, but it’s very much a quick-turnover stand. Seating is limited or nonexistent, so expect to carry your flat white and muffin back to the general gate seating. Regulars use it after hitting a bigger café earlier in T1, then swinging by here for a top-up 20–30 minutes before boarding.

Coffee quality lands around “motorway service station” level according to 2022–2023 Google reviews, so set expectations accordingly. Simple drinks like americanos or straight espresso tend to draw fewer complaints; the pricier lattes and flavoured options are what people quote as not matching the £4+ price tag. Food is mostly cold: pastries, croissants, and wrapped sandwiches that you can eat at the gate.

Watch out for slow service in the 45–60 minutes before a bank of departures, when several flights push at once. One or two staff on the machine plus a short queue can still mean a 10-minute wait, which is tight if your gate is already showing “Final Call.” This is also not the spot for a full breakfast: no cooked plates, just grab-and-go.

Practical tip: If you want Ritazza, pick your drink while you’re still 3–4 people from the till, stick to a simple coffee, and grab any snack in the same order so you’re back at your T1 gate within five minutes.
