Three-minute walk from Terminal E, when the lot is actually open
The Terminal E Lot is a surface, short-term lot sitting just a few hundred feet from the Terminal E doors, usually a 3‑minute walk to check-in for most international airlines. It runs as overflow or project-dependent parking, so Massport opens and closes it based on construction and demand rather than a fixed schedule.
This is true short-term parking: rates track Logan’s higher tiers and make the most sense for same‑day pickups, drop‑offs, or 1–2 day trips out of Terminal E. You park outdoors on uncovered pavement, so in a January snowstorm or a heavy March nor’easter, expect to dig out your car compared with the covered Central Garage.
Travelers on Reddit and FlyerTalk note that the lot can be fully barricaded with cones and signs, pushing drivers to Central Parking or the Economy Garage at the last minute. One flyer called it “overflow for E” that they only use when the gates are clearly open and staff are waving cars in.
Regular Logan flyers rarely plan around this lot. They assume they’ll end up in Central or Economy and treat Terminal E Lot as a bonus if open, often checking recent Google Maps reviews or Reddit threads the same day to see if someone has confirmed current status.
Watch out for: inconsistent availability and winter weather. If you’re driving in from I‑90 with bags for an overnight international flight, build in an extra 15–20 minutes in case you have to loop from a closed E Lot over to Central or Economy and catch a shuttle back.
Pro tip: as you approach Terminal E on the arrivals level, look for active rate signs and open barricades for the E Lot; if you don’t clearly see them before the turnoff, skip it and head straight to Central to avoid a stressful loop.
