Near the main shopping strip in Terminal 2
Kala Kranti sits airside in Terminal 2 at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, in the same general retail zone as the other Indian handicraft and souvenir stores. It’s a quick stop if your flight boards from the central T2 piers and you want something that actually says “Mumbai” on it before you leave.
The focus here is India-themed gifts: think printed textiles, small decor pieces, regional art motifs, and giftable accessories featuring Mumbai or Maharashtra designs. Prices run higher than street markets in Colaba or Bandra, but still sit in normal airport-gift territory, with many small items under ₹1,000 and larger decor pieces climbing into a few thousand rupees.
Because this is inside Terminal 2’s secure area, you can only reach Kala Kranti after check-in and security at BOM T2. That makes it a last-chance option if you forgot souvenirs on a short work trip and only have 15–20 minutes between clearing security and heading to a gate like 71–78 on the international side.
Selection skews toward lighter, packable items: cloth pieces that roll into a cabin bag, small framed prints, and accessories that fit easily alongside a 7 kg hand baggage allowance. Skip bulky decor or anything fragile if your onward connection involves another tight security check, especially in hubs like DXB or DOH where carry-on screening is strict.
Tip: if you’re flying out of Terminal 2 in the late evening wave (22:00–02:00), walk past your gate first, check actual boarding on the screen, then double back to Kala Kranti so you don’t lose a seat in a crowded gate area.
