By Gate 45 in Terminal 2, Fabindia is your last-minute India fix before boarding
Fabindia in Terminal 2 sits airside in the international departures zone, a few minutes’ walk from the mid-40 gates. It leans hard into Indian textiles and handicrafts: kurtas, stoles, scarves, and casual wear for men, women, and kids, plus some packaged home items. Prices run higher than city branches; expect simple cotton kurtas to start around ₹1,200–₹1,500 and go up sharply for silk or heavier weaves.
Stock here skews travel-friendly: lighter cottons, easy fits, and smaller pieces you can cram into an already full cabin bag. You’ll see a lot of block-printed stoles, dupattas, and soft scarves that sit under 500 g packed. There’s also a compact section of personal-care items and packaged foods (spices, pickles, snacks) that generally fall under standard liquid and customs limits, though anything in glass jars should go in protected space in your carry-on.
The shop keeps to standard Terminal 2 retail hours, usually open from early morning bank of departures around 05:00 through the late-night Europe and US waves past 01:00. Staff handle international sizes reasonably well, but cuts follow Indian sizing, so someone who wears a UK 10 might be more comfortable in an L here. Card payments in INR dominate, but most major foreign cards clear without issue; cash in rupees is also fine for small accessories.
One practical move: if you’re eyeing clothing, walk in with at least 15–20 minutes before boarding, as queues at nearby gates in T2 can block the main corridor and slow you down getting back. For low-risk souvenirs under ₹1,000, stick to scarves and small home items; heavier textiles are nicer but will punish your luggage weight at BOM’s frequent check-in reweighs.
