Vittles

Gate-side option in BOM T2 when you want real plates

In Terminal 2 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Vittles sits airside among the main food court options and gives you a proper sit-down meal before long-haul departures. You’re in the international terminal here, so build in at least 45 minutes if you want to eat without rushing boarding at the farther 60–70 gates.

Vittles runs on typical T2 hours, generally opening for the early bank of flights around 5:00 and staying open past midnight to catch Europe and Gulf departures. Prices land in the mid-range for Mumbai airport: count on roughly ₹350–₹450 for basic Indian mains and ₹200–₹300 for snacks or sandwiches, which is slightly cheaper than some of the global chains in the same terminal.

The menu leans on Indian staples alongside a few international comfort dishes. You’ll usually find paneer mains, dal, rotis, and at least one biryani in the ₹350–₹500 bracket, plus burgers or grilled sandwiches around ₹250. If you’re nervous about spice before a 9–10 hour flight, stick to dal tadka, jeera rice, and bread; if you want heavier, the biryani portions run big enough to share between two light eaters.

Service pace matches airport norms: about 10–15 minutes for simple snacks and 20–25 minutes for full mains during the evening peak between 21:00 and 01:00. That’s fine for a 2-hour check-in window, but tight if your boarding pass shows “gate closes” in under 30 minutes. T2 security itself can take 20–30 minutes at busy times, so eat after clearing, not in the landside area.

Tip: if your flight leaves from the high 40s or 50s gates in Terminal 2, grab a table closer to the concourse edge so you can keep an eye on gate screens and walk out within 5–7 minutes when your flight flips to “boarding.”
