River City Coffee & News

Gate-side caffeine fix in BOI’s Main Terminal

River City Coffee & News sits past security in Boise’s Main Terminal, a quick walk from most gates in this single-terminal airport. It runs through the early morning departure rush, catching those 6:00–7:00 a.m. flights, and usually stays open into the late afternoon. If you want coffee without backtracking to the pre-security lobby, this is the in-terminal option.

The menu leans on espresso drinks, drip coffee, and basic pastries, all priced in typical airport range rather than downtown Boise bargains. Expect to pay a couple of dollars more for a latte than you would on the street. You’ll also find grab-and-go snacks and bottled drinks that work for shorter hops to Seattle, Salt Lake City, or Denver.

The “& News” part is literal: there are racks of magazines and a spread of newspapers, handy if you miss the free Wi‑Fi code on your boarding pass or just prefer paper for a two-hour flight. Candy, gum, and a few last-minute travel items fill out the shelves, so you can grab headphones or a phone cord without leaving the Main concourse.

Lines spike before those clustered morning departures, especially between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m., when three or four flights push at once. Plan five to ten extra minutes if you’re grabbing coffee before boarding. Fastest move: order drip coffee and a packaged snack, pay contactless, and carry it straight to your gate.
